One of the most widely used citation tools nowadays is Cite This For Me. free tool for student and researchers.
Why Citing Matters
Citing isn't something you think about very often, yet it's crucial. You already do it in little ways in your daily life without even recognizing it. Have you ever stated, "I heard on XYZ News that..." or "I read in XYZ that those two celebs are dating," or even "Mom told you couldn't do that," or "I heard on XYZ that..." You are casually crediting a source by stating where you received your knowledge.
We do this to give credit to the source of the material and to allow others to follow up if they require further information.
Avoid plagiarism
This is taken a step further with formal citing for papers and projects. Citing sources in academics gives documentation of your research process and helps you avoid plagiarism, in addition to the advantages stated above.
What Is the Process?
Start referencing right now by clicking the website or journal article icon. If you're utilizing a different form of source, such as a book, click "More" to view all of your possibilities. A form will appear that will provide you all of the information you need to know about your source. Remember that because source information might vary (for example, one photo may include a title while another does not), the forms do not require a fully completed form to add a reference. You may generate a citation at any moment and return to it as many times as you wish.
